Book Reviews
Review
Tea Time with Grandma is a beautiful book written with kindness and precision that addresses the tender topic of grieving the loss of a loved one. JoBeth writes from a heart that has weathered much loss, but also has treasured memories that have carried her on her own journey. In these pages, she weaves a pathway for children and their caregivers to walk through their sadness gently with hope for brighter days. Included in this book is a thoughtful space for a child to journal in whatever way they may need. This could be through writing, drawing, or doodling. This thoughtful inclusion may be the key to easing a child’s pain. As an educator, I could see using this book in my classroom as a valuable support for a child on their journey with grief. May a multitude of children find hope in these pages!

Review
The family tradition of sharing a cup of tea, sitting in rockers with loved ones on the porch, or cooking gumbo together reminds us of the little things that we need to remember as we keep our loved one alive in our heart. Spending time together helps us to bear our grief. Journaling pages are included for reflection with a caregiver. Tea Time with Grandma will be a keepsake for generations to come.

Review
Professionally and personally, an unmatched resource for grief that uses storytelling as well as journaling. Dr. Kee-Rees takes us on a journey of the heart through her own grief and weaves life lessons geared toward children that can also teach all ages. Personal journaling and interaction in the book become a tool of healing as the child and caregiver walk the journey of grief together. My father died suddenly when I was 10 years old, and I wish my family had this book back then to help me understand/process the grief I was feeling. Luckily, when my own daughter experienced unexpected loss, I had the professional skills to help her grieve. This book will help countless parents and professionals walk the journey of grief with children in their lives.
